This one-of-a-kind is part of a series of works exploring drawn, painted and gilded geometric patterns. The central image features a floating orb with a mandala on the top. It is an optical illusion and the image takes up more visual space than the physical footprint on which it stands. Hidden dichroic windows, and delicately lampworked Italian glass offer an inviting variety of viewing options.
The exterior features handpainted glass, and clear slumped glass. Every part of this piece is designed and made in my studio by me. The design process is as appealing to me as the construction itself, and seeing these pieces come together is a very rewarding experience.
