This optical illusion kaleidoscope has a star-shaped mandala floating midway down the tube, appearing to float in midair. The third side of the mirror system is a dichroic frosted mirror flooding the whole image with pink and purple hues that change as the scope is rotated. The cell is filled with lampworked glass, all of which are made on a flame-working torch specifically for this scope, then the pieces are added to the cell and filled with glycerine. As you rotate the scope the mandala moves with a graceful flow of ever-changing, perfectly symmetrical star mandalas.
